The session
In chapters, with pickups kept.
Long-form narration is recorded in chapters, not as one long take. Each chapter is its own file. Misreads are marked as they happen and go on a running pickup list, recorded in a block at the end of the chapter while the voice is still in the same place, so a pickup sounds like the line before it.
Consistency across the day is the whole craft. Water, breaks and a level check every chapter keep hour four sounding like hour one.
Delivery
In order, as you go.
Chapters are delivered in order as they are finished, so an editor can start on chapter one while chapter six is still being read. WAV at 48 kHz / 24-bit as standard or whatever your pipeline needs, MP3s, split files and slates, with loudness to broadcast standard on request. Stereo and mono only; no Atmos.
Time and money
By the hour, quoted per script.
Studio time is C$150 an hour with the engineer included; projects are scoped and quoted within one business day. The rate is the same at 9 PM on a Sunday as at 10 AM on a Tuesday: the studio is open 9 AM to 2 AM, seven days a week, and evenings and weekends carry no premium. Rates current as of 14 September 2026. A feature-length script is a full day, C$1,500, or two shorter sessions if the voice prefers it.
